Remember that your animals need exercise just as we do! Keep them active, but remember to HYDRATE & keep the exercise at the best level for you specific pet. The HEAT is dangerous this time off the year.

Obesity is a disease that can be defined by excess of body fat that is enough to impair health, welfare and quality of life. It estimated that approximately 40% of pet population is obese.

Obesity can lead to many other health issues such as:

Diabetes
Joint problems
Heart disease
Respiratory disease

And can ultimately reduce your pet’s life span.

Although some diseases can cause obesity the main reason is simply eating more energy than your pet can use up, whether that is being too many calories, treats, tit bits or simply not getting enough exercise.

Every animal is different and you can have 2 dogs from the same litter that are within their correct weight range but actually have different calorie requirements so are not identical in weight.
