On the 1st of June 2024 KZN Pony Club invited all branches to the unmounted rally for the human first aid badge.
Shongweni PC, Hillcrest Waterfall PC and JoJo's PC attended. It was a wonderfully successful morning filled with laughter and learning.

A huge thank you to KZN Show Jumping who kindly offered the use of the barn at the Durban Shongweni Club.

GREEN IS QUEEN

You can’t talk about Badminton Horse Trials without mentioning one of the greatest of all time; the iconic Lucinda Green.

A truly illustrious career that includes an unmatched record of six victories at Badminton Horse Trials on six different horses; including back to back winners in 1976/77 and 1983/84. Twice winner of Burghley Horse Trials, Team Silver at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics and Individual and Team Gold at the 1982 World Championships, alongside multiple European Championships medals and countless Eventing achievements.

Lucinda was just nineteen when she won her first Badminton title on Be Fair in 1973. The chestnut, acquired for her fifteenth birthday, took Lucinda from Pony Club all the way to the first of two European championship titles and her first Olympics in Montreal.

Revered for her attitude, her approach to horses and the grace and elegance she displays in the saddle, Lucinda will always be one of the greatest (and one of our favourites). In a sport that can never be described as simple, Lucinda has always been the epitome of simplicity and flawlessness - understanding perfectly how to bring out the best of herself and her horses; a true embodiment of fitness and finesse.

Our HWPC members are in full learning mode! Badges have been worked on this term and are now being tested.
Tack Cleaning, Plaiting, Field Safety, Bandaging and Rugs to name a few. All are prepping our riders to be ready for their Efficiency Tests!

Tomorrow 11 Feb, 2pm to 5pm our Pony club members are partaking in a mounted rally to learn about Dressage.
We have a busy afternoon planned of learning and having fun with our ponies.

Pony Club is a world wide non profit organisation that provides a comprehensive learning of Horsemanship, Riding, and Training of Young Horses.
Hillcrest Waterfall Pony Club which is based at Sunrae Valley Stables, would like to invite your child to join. Annual membership is R400.00 for the first year, R330.00 thereafter.
We meet once a month on a Saturday for either a mounted, unmounted, fun outing or activity.
Badges can be earned (R50 per badge) and Pony Club Efficiency Levels achieved.
Efficiency levels are recognised by Pony Club world wide and higher achievement levels can lead to employment within the equine industry.
