Today is World Veterinary Day 🎉 and we would like to thank our amazing Vet team here at Greencross Vets White Hills for all of their dedication, compassion and vast knowledge that they share each and every day.
Thankyou Dr Jack Lang, Dr Georgia Wiegard, Dr Fiona Morrison and Dr Krys Szokolai for not only helping our Fur Babies, but for helping us as humans too through your love and skills as Vets.
The World Veterinary Association states that "Veterinarians competencies must be regarded as an essential and integral part of health at large. I know many of us are enjoying the warmer weather, but please remember that snakes are also coming out to feed and get warm. As pet owners we need to be cautious and safeguard our pets. Our dog and cat companions are very inquisitive and some possess quite strong hunting instincts, which makes them susceptible to snake bites.
Some symptoms of snake bite are :
-Weakness in hind limbs
-Restlessness
-Trembling
-Collapse
-Difficulty breathing

If you suspect your pet has been bitten by a snake, please call your vet immediately.

With less than 3 weeks until Christmas our appointments are filling up fast. If your pet is needing a vaccination prior to attending a kennel/cattery over the holiday period please call us ASAP to book in (03 5443 0044). If you’re unsure of your pets vaccination status please don’t hesitate to get in contact with us and check.

Congratulations Tayla! Tayla has just completed her Certificate 2 in Animal Studies through the Greencross Internship Program. Tayla will be starting her Certificate 4 in Veterinary Nursing in October, we all wish her the best with this and know she will do an amazing job.

Frankie, a 14week old Cane Corso, came in for her final puppy vaccination today. Frankie is a very early riser and enjoys waking her doggy big brother at 4.30am to play. We think Frankie is absolutely adorable sporting her bow tie 🐶🙂
