That’s a wrap!!! Thank you for another wonderful year. It’s been an absolute pleasure seeing all my favourite patients throughout 2023. Please stay safe over the Christmas break. I will reopen on the 4th January 9am.

So good to see this gorgeous little man feeling much better and back to his happy self 🥰
Buddy initially presented with an upset tummy. I knew he was experiencing more than just a bout of gastroenteritis so i performed full in-house blood work and urinalysis. Blood test highlighted a Protein-Losing Enteropathy (PLE) which was also confirmed with abdominal ultrasound. I started Buddy on special medication, changed his diet ( which was super tricky as he is very fussy with his food) and started him on weekly Vitamin B12 injections. 1 week later my little friend is eating so much better, poops 💩 have gone back to normal, no more vomiting and his protein levels have normalised as well Yay! Buddy has enjoyed hanging out with .sonya.bains during the day to give his pawrents some rest. Buddy loves gobbling up his special yummy low fat food now 😋and sitting at reception with Dr Sonya greeting clients as they come in 🐶
It has been a tough couple of weeks for Buddy and his very dedicated owners but looks like we are out of the woods and on the road to recovery well done Buddy! ❤️

Harry has had some issues with his hips and hindlimb recently. Showing lameness after exercise.
He just finished his course of arthritis injections and has started Laser Therapy today.
Laser is great for treating wounds, reduce oedema/swelling, improve blood circulation and has a powerful anti-inflammatory effect.
Laser will help with the improvement of Harry’s quality of life and I’m sure he will feel much better running around the yard and going for his walks ❤️

I caught up with my little old mate Max today to check how his skin was going. Poor Max has been super itchy for months so his owner came to visit .sonya.bains to see what we could do to help him. Max was the sweetest little man for his first visit. He was given antibiotics for his skin infection and an injection to help with the itching. One week on Max is doing great! Itching has stopped and his skin looks so much better. His ear infection had also improved too 👍 well done buddy ❤️🐶

Sweet old Tuscan came in to see .sonya.bains today to start his laser therapy. Tuscan is a 11yr old senior boy who suffers from arthritis especially in his little knees. Laser therapy is a great addition to his arthritis management for its anti inflammatory and analgesic effects, is painless and non invasive. Tuscan was such a good boy for his first session today and I look forward to seeing him again next week 💙

This sweet little munchkin came in for her puppy vaccination 💉 She was very brave! 🐶sonya.bains noticed she had smelly ears and took some swabs to look under the microscope 🔬 to see if she had an infection.. lucky we did because Miss Jessie does have a mixed infection ( yeast and bacteria) in both her ears. Will start her on some ear meds and hopefully all will be well real soon🥰

My patients seriously have me wrapped around their little paws 🐾. Miss bossy boots here did not have an appointment today.. she was just tagging along with her sister. Because she was left outside ( how dare I! ) Cookie persisted to bang on my front door until i let her in.. all because she wanted snacks.. I gave in 😂😋 she is adorable though❤️

So proud of this sweet little old lady. Miss Poppy came in today for an echocardiogram ( heart ultrasound) and chest X-rays. Pop is almost 17 years old and still has a spring in her step. It’s always a pleasure when my senior patients visit me

Miss Dottie is one little snuggle bug! She visited for the first time today. She just wanted cuddles, yummy treats and happily explored the hospital. Looks like she made her self right at home. Next visit will be needle 💉 time 🐶
