Did you know?

Tooth resorption occurs when cells called odontoclasts destroy the roots of a tooth by resorbing the enamel and as the condition progresses, it destroys more of the tooth eventually affecting the crown (the portion that can be seen during an oral exam). Tooth resorption affects 20-60% of all cats, its cause is unknown and it is very painful.

If you are unable to brush your pets teeth, consider using other dental products. Be sure to look for products approved by the Veterinary Oral Health Council (VOHC). Products that aren’t approved by the VOHC, or those that are too hard to bend or break easily—like animal antlers and bones—can easily fracture your pet’s teeth or cause serious gastrointestinal issues.

Did you know?

Radiographs are highly recommended and crucial for diagnosing dental issues in dogs and cats that aren't visible to the naked eye. They help veterinarians detect problems under the gum line, such as abscesses, bone loss, jaw fractures, or impacted teeth. Early detection through radiographs can lead to prompt treatment, preventing more serious health issues and ensuring our pets live happier, healthier lives!
