Do you want to take part in an all inclusive, fun, obedience based sport for you and your dogs?

We offer Talking Dogs Rally Classes on a Saturday morning at 10am.

As the classes are PAYG rather than a course, we do ask people new to the sport to attend a workshop first as an introduction.

Mary Burnside with Gus, Ingrid Brown with Freddie and Lynet Smith with Emma and Orla recently competed in an online Rally competition.

Well done ladies! 🌟🎉🏆
Mary and Gus awarded "ACE"
Ingrid and Freddie awarded "OUTSTANDING"
Nettie and Orla awarded "OUTSTANDING"
Nettie and Emma awarded "GOOD"

Great advice, we often say focus on the green lights not the red lights, but this sums it up really well

“Click the action, not the termination.”
Sounds simple, right? But this little gem from Alexandra Kurland is one of those deceptively obvious tips that separates clarity from confusion for the learner.

Behaviour isn’t just a thing—it’s an action—a continuous stream made up of many smaller behaviours. A wiggle, a pause, a bounce, a stretch, a shift in weight, a spark of enthusiasm. When we click, we’re delivering a discriminative stimulus for reinforcement—so the timing of that marker really matters.

Miss the moment? You might be reinforcing a different behavior than you intended. Maybe the stop, the shift, or the glance away—rather than the action you’re trying to build.

Ben's Yard Social Dog Walk.

MONDAY 3 FEBRUARY 10am at the Cafe.....who is joining us?

The walk is totally on lead and socially distanced, so all dogs are welcome, just make sure you give everyone the space your dog and their dogs need. If your dog isn't coping, just fall off the back and take them back to your car, we want it to be as good an experience as possible for them!

Amelie FlamKuche Restaurants are dog friendly and invite well behaved dogs to join you in both the restaurant and coffee shop.
Owner Alex has kindly offered a free Puppachino to anyone staying on and buying a hot drink after the walk, so bring some cash and let's all enjoy a hot beverage afterwards.

The farm shop has now opened selling fresh veg, meats, cheese, fresh bread and a range of Fitzbillies cakes plus more.

We look forward to seeing you on Monday, all you need is your dog, an ordinary length lead, poo bags and a supply of treats as we will train as we go!

Happy New Year to all our customers past, present and future.
As we see in the New Year there's likely to be fireworks. Even if your dog isn't bothered by them, you can proof against future problems by a simple game we call "Novelty Pairing". As soon as you hear the fireworks start or notice any particularly loud bangs, whether your dog notices or not, either scatter a small handful of food / treats on the ground or have a really good game with your dog.
Science indicates that pairing a frightening event with a good experience actually alters the configuration of the memory of the event, so they remember as being less scary than they might have done in the absence of something good.
Give it a try as you welcome in the new year.

Yvonne, Mary and Ingrid

I am so excited to announce that I am now working in collaboration with Ross Lomond from BugBakes and Wild Pet food.
Why did I choose this company to be an ambassador?
There are so many reasons.
Many owners believe that raw feeding is the gold standard for dogs, but it doesn’t suit every lifestyle.
WILD Pet Food delivers all the benefits of raw in a convenient, dry format. Using low-temperature, cold-pressing techniques to lock in nutrients without heavy processing. Each recipe is truly 80:20, with 80% high-quality meat and 20% fruits, veggies, and superfoods—measured after dehydration for true accuracy. Free from grains, peas, fillers, and artificial nasties, we use only simple, natural ingredients you can trust. WILD Pet Food: the nutrition of raw, made easy with a low-processed, nutrient-packed diet that’s perfect for your dog.
BUG Bakes has all the benefits of WILD with the added bonus of sustainability - BUG Bakes uses insects as the main protein source.
BUG Bakes is the ONLY cold-pressed, insect based diet on the market!
Both WILD and BUG Bakes are cold-pressed in the UK. The majority of cold-pressed diets are imported from Germany. Since feeding my dogs WILD and BUG Bakes, I have reduced my food miles considerably!
Recyclable packaging which reduces the amount of waste I send to landfill.
AND as you all probably know because I have been banging on about Cold-pressed V Kibble for so long.......Cold-pressed food breaks down in the stomach whilst kibble swells. The way cold-pressed food is digested reduces the risk of Gastric Dilation and Volvulus (GDV) commonly refered to as Bloat which is a painful, life threatening condition that requires emergency surgery.

We are proud to be members of one of the Founder Organisations of the UK Dog Charter, working to improve training methods as we strive for regulation

At its heart, the UK Dog Behaviour & Training Charter™ is a code of conduct, ethics and methodology. More than that however, the Charter is a collaboration of many of the UK’s leading behaviour and training membership organisations who for the first time have come together cooperatively under th...
