Respect is at the core of our approach, without exception. It extends to every pet in our care, every family we support, and every moment we are trusted with.

Respect means handling each farewell with thoughtfulness and integrity, understanding that this trust is given at a deeply vulnerable time and should always be honoured.

After saying goodbye to their much-loved Teddy, his family shared these thoughtful words with us about their experience.

“Dear Forget Me Not Team,

I wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank you for the care and compassion you showed during the cremation of my beloved dog, Teddy, a 7-year-old Sprocker Spaniel, who was the most loving boy you could ever ask for.

We are all lost without him.

Losing Teddy was incredibly difficult, but your kindness made the process more manageable at such a sad time.

The way everything was handled, calmly, thoughtfully, and with genuine empathy, helped bring a sense of comfort. It’s clear that you truly understand how much pets mean to the people who love them, and that care shows in everything you do.

Thank you for helping to give Teddy a peaceful farewell. I will always be grateful."

Our thanks to Teddy’s family for sharing these words and allowing us to be part of his care.

We understand that grief is deeply personal, shaped by the bond shared with a much-loved pet. That is why our care is never one-size-fits-all.

Every pet, every family and every farewell is treated with individual attention, allowing the experience to feel personal, respectful and meaningful.

Nikki and her family kindly shared these words with us after the care of their girl, Lola.

"From making the first heartbreaking call I felt at ease and reassured by Forget Me Not.

We chose to take Lola (our 12-year-old American Bulldog) ourselves, her final journey in our camper van that she loved travelling in. We were greeted by Lucinda and Sharon with sincere empathy and kindness.

We spent a while with Lola (with her little brother Alfie too) saying our goodbyes in the very tranquil quiet room. The fish tank is lovely. A special mention for Sharon, your empathy, compassion and kind words meant so much to us. You made leaving Lola with you that little bit easier.

On collecting Lola, I was met by another lovely lady. Our girl was presented so beautifully. You all made the hardest of days into a very peaceful one. Thank you all so very much for taking care of Lola (and us!)

Nikki, Tracey & Alfie ###"

Our thanks to Nikki, Tracey and Alfie for sharing this with us and allowing us to be part of Lola’s journey.

Compassion guides everything we do.

From the first conversation to the final farewell, our focus is on creating a space that feels calm, supportive and understanding.

We know that grief can feel overwhelming, and often words aren’t enough. Sometimes compassion simply means being present, listening, and moving gently at the pace that feels right.

We’re always grateful when people take the time to share their experience with us. This message was shared by a family after the care of their boy, Archie.

"Our family would like to say a huge thank you to Forget Me Not for being so kind and caring while helping us through the hardest loss we’ve ever had to experience. Making the decision to let our handsome Archie, at the age of 17, cross the rainbow bridge was incredibly difficult, but knowing he was in such kind and understanding hands gave us the peace of mind we needed. Thank you for being so lovely from start to finish and for bringing our boy home so quickly. Thank you again so much, we’re sure Archie would also be grateful for the care you gave him."

It means a great deal to know that Archie was cared for in the way his family hoped.

Dignity is found in the details. It’s in the way all pets are handled, the time taken, and the quiet respect shown throughout the process.

These things may not always be visible, but they matter deeply to us. We believe that dignity should be present in every moment, because it reflects the love and respect families have for their pets.

A family shared their experience with Tiger Lily, who left us too soon:

"Our precious little girl Tiger Lily was taken from us too soon after a tragic accident. My son had heard of the services offered by Forget Me Not and contacted them. I cannot praise their professionalism highly enough.

I wasn't really ready to let go of my baby when they arrived to collect her but Chris was so lovely and allowed me to say my last goodbyes without feeling rushed. Tigs was brought back home the following day. She was presented beautifully and thoughtfully along with a condolence card and poem.

I will forever miss my baby girl but have taken such comfort from the sensitive and 'special' treatment provided by the FMN team as she made her final journey over the rainbow bridge - sleep tight sweetheart ❤️"

It’s always touching to hear that the care we provide helps families feel that their pet’s journey was handled with dignity.

At the heart of everything we do is care.

Care for your beloved pet entrusted to us, who will be treated with dignity, gentleness and respect at every stage. Care for the people who love them, who are often experiencing one of the most difficult moments they will face.

We believe care should never feel rushed. It should feel calm, thoughtful and deeply considered, because that is what every goodbye deserves.
