Festive cuteness from Flo, Briggs and Stan ❤️
💎 LOOK AT THOSE EYES 💎
Thora absolutely smashed her first hydrotherapy session yesterday and wasn’t phased by a thing 💪
Thora is visiting us to help with her cardiovascular fitness through the summer months as she competes competitively in Canicross & Bikejor.
It is very difficult in the summer months to keep up the fitness of these dogs due to the risk of overheating. Exercising within our air conditioned unit enables Thora to work on her cardiovascular fitness without the risk of heat stoke 🔥
We can’t wait to fall in love with her all over again at her next appointment 💙
Mitchell's Hydrotherapy Session
⭐ MITCHELL ⭐
If your feed is lacking some seriously wholesome Rottweiler content then you're in the right place...!! 🥰
Meet Mitchell! This super handsome 1-year-old Rottweiler has become a firm favourite with the Aquavet team since starting sessions in March. Mitchell uses hydrotherapy as a preventative measure to help protect against common joint and mobility issues by building and maintaining great muscle tone and coverage 💖
Regular hydrotherapy sessions for our patients last around 30 minutes, here is Mitchell giving you a snapshot of his sessions in just 60 seconds!
The fun doesn't stop at the end of the session! Stanley (in the @ruffandtumbledogcoats coat) having just finished his hydrotherapy session met playmate Pascal in the waiting room who was waiting to come on in! 💦 Two Goldie's living life to the fullest 💖
Hydrotherapy for Henry
⭐ HENRY ⭐
Henry has a history of intervertebral disc disease (IVDD) and has previously had spinal surgery.
He has some hind limb weakness and muscle wastage of his quadriceps and hamstrings. Hydrotherapy forms an important part of the management of Henry's condition, helping to strengthen his hind limb muscles and enhance his gait patterns.
Since starting his sessions Henry's owners have noticed a spring in his step! He is enjoying walks more and is being extra playful 🥰
Henry also attends physiotherapy with @vetphysionorfolk and follows an at-home physiotherapy plan 👍🏻
Here he is enjoying time in the treadmill with hydrotherapist Sarah and hydrotherapy assistant Chantelle.
Harvey was VERY excited about his hydrotherapy session on Saturday!!
Shelley is a hydrotherapy veteran - check her out strutting her stuff like a pro on our hydro treadmill! Shelley has osteoarthritis in her elbows, a relatively common condition in senior dogs. Her hydrotherapy sessions help to build muscle mass without experiencing any pain or inflammation from exercising on hard ground. Shelley loves coming to see us and we absolutely love seeing her!
Handsome Shot is progressing very well thanks to regular Hydrotherapy and Physiotherapy. During this session, scrunchies were placed above and below his hock to encourage proper foot placement and generate a better range of movement in flexion and extension. We have been taking measurements of his muscle mass and he has gained a centimetre in just 4 sessions! Well done Shot!!
