Grass seeds can be a menace! They are pointy seeds that are attached to long grass. They are found in meadows and places with long grass.
It is important to inspect your pet straight after they have been in long grass to avoid the grass seed from causing a problem. Grass seeds have sharp ends and can get stuck in your pets fur and pierce their skin. If you think your pet may have a grass seed imbedded, contact your veterinarian. 🌿

Our furry friends can become too hot in the heat, without adequate cooling. Below are some steps of what you can do to help reduce your dogs temperature. Always ensure you call your vet immediately for advice!
- Move the dog to a shaded and cool area
- Immediately pour cool (not cold to avoid shock) water over the dog. Tap water (15-16°C) has been found to be the most effective at cooling dogs with heat-related illnesses.
- Wet towels placed over the dog can worsen the condition, trapping heat.
-Allow the dog to drink small amounts of cool water
-Continue to pour cool water over the dog until their breathing starts to settle, but not too much that they start shivering

Please be mindful when walking your pets in the heat, especially if they are a Brachycephalic breed. 🐾
Evening walks are best if possible 🌝
Cool mats, water bottles, fans, and air conditioning are some ways you can help to cool down your furry friends this summer ❄️

It's BBQ season! 🍔🌭To make sure your pets stay safe, take a look at some of our top tips;

- Keep the flame in a safe place by making sure the BBQ is secure. Keep it on a flat area where it’s less likely to fall over. 🔥

-BBQs take hours to cool down. If you’re letting them into the garden, make sure they’re supervised at all times 🌡

-Make sure that your pet has access to clean drinking water. We recommend placing their bowl in a shaded area – far away from the BBQ and the foods/accessories that come with it. 💧

-Greasy, under/overcooked meats can upset your dog’s stomach or even cause pancreatitis. Corn on the cob can cause a blockage in their digestive system. 🍗🥩

Pets age around seven times faster than humans and as they do, they become more
susceptible to a variety of health conditions. A wellness screening is a comprehensive
medical MOT for your cat or dog that can detect health issues and help to give you
peace of mind about your pet’s health and wellbeing.
Your pet will receive a detailed health check by one of our trained veterinary
nurses and they can also give tailored lifestyle advice.
If you are part of our Pet Health Club you will receive a 25% discount.
