Socialisation

Does your Dog lunge, bark or snap at other doggos?

Maybe they bark at buses, cyclists or strangers.

For your dog to be calm, relaxed and confident in all situations, they need to be well socialised.

Many cases that we assist with where the dogs are explained as being 'reactive' are generally under socialised.

If you have a puppy under 20 weeks old, it is imperative for their future growth that every new situation they encounter is positive.

All dogs grow up to 'live in the now' and they use their instincts which are made up of their previous experiences to handle most situations.

If your dog is currently showing signs of reactivity or lack of socialisation, very rarely does this go away on its own.

Get in touch with our team now and we can help you correct the behaviour for good.

We teach our dogs to be calm and confident and when unsure to look up to their leader for the guidance they need.

ps. dogs find eye to eye contact front on intimidating and should not be encouraged. Seconds later Cooper moves to the side and offers a play bow to diffuse the 'situation'.

What is the meaning of Kaizen?

Kaizen is a Japanese philosophy and its meaning is "Change for Good" / "Continuous Improvement".

We can break down the word and translate to English

Kai - Change
Zen - For Good / Better

Hence our Moto - Change for good

Dog Training is a journey of continuous improvement. A journey that your dog will relish and no doubt will strengthen your relationship.

Working on Engagement with your dog is the key to success.

We ask for engagement from day one and then we level up on distances and distractions.

We need the dog to be looking up to us for guidance which in turn creates a well balanced dog who will listen to verbal commands, watch for visual cues and check our body language.

This is the post we came across in May 2021 and it tells 100+ stories that are currently being experienced around New Zealand.

The amazing team at Saving Hope Foundation are just one of many foundations/charities that are helping the situation.

At the time of this photo being taken, we had no idea what this dog's name is. The collar was popped on by the lovely family that gave this Dog his second chance.

We all know that now his name is Cooper and he is our Mentor Dog here at Kaizen Canine Training. We utilise Cooper to assist with the rehabilitation of fearful, anxious and aggressive dogs. Plus assist with our mantra;

ENGAGEMENT - LEADERSHIP - OBEDIENCE

Cooper is our inspiration to assist with as many dogs as possible. We want to inspire all dog owners and dog professionals to enjoy a better relationship with their dogs. For us the joy of ownership is training a dog, we want to give you the knowledge and the tools to do just that.

Introducing you to our Mentor Dog - Cooper.

Cooper came to us in May 2021 after we read a post from the excellent team at Saving Hope Foundation. Unfortunately Cooper came from a life of being abused and living on a chain to finally being abandoned.

We fostered Cooper and set him through our Canine Reset program and he passed with flying colours. Cooper stole our hearts and we decided very quickly that we had a dog for life and a dog that can help with the rehabilitation of others.

We are able to achieve such high level results because of Cooper's resilience. He is the inspiration for everything we do at Kaizen Canine Training and should offer inspiration to everyone.

If you are currently frustrated with your dog from the behaviour he is displaying the team here can help.
