These stunning winter days ☀️ often mean cooler nights so if you have an outside dog, take a moment today to check their shelter is dry and draught-free. Ensuring bedding is off the ground is a must and a new bed/blanket or coat will help your dog stay warmer on cold nights 🐶

Celebrating Pet Week 🤩 Meet Gem, Vet Nurse Brooke's dog. Sometimes, staff pets are our patients, too. "Gem is 10 years old. I noticed a lump on her shoulder, which doubled in size within about 3 weeks, so I took her to have a consult and an FNA (fine needle aspirate) done. The results of this didn’t look great, so we decided to have it removed and send it for histology. The results came back, and it was a soft tissue sarcoma, thankfully a low grade. This means that the likelihood of its spreading is very low. In the photo, she is wearing a shirt as she kept scratching her wound; what better shirt than an old work one to match her mum!"

We're Celebrating Pet Week 🥳 Meet Veterinarian Dr Beth Belin's dog Flop, who flew over with her from the UK. " Flop came into the practice I was working at, as a skinny, mangy, unmicrochipped stray, presumed to have been dumped by her previous owners. She had recently had puppies and was very fearful of people and the world in general.

I made the mistake of feeling sorry for her and taking her home with me “just for the weekend”… and here we are on the other side of the world two and a half years later! She is my wee companion, and I have been very fortunate that all the jobs I have had have allowed her to bring her to work with me. Needless to say, she has come out of her shell and is a sweet and cheeky terrier who LOVES coming to the Ngatea and Thames clinics to see her friends (my colleagues)."
