Tenacity: Characterized by extreme persistence My name is Lauren Barker. I began riding at the age of 7.
(15)

I am 23 years old and have been involved with horses all my life. I have trained and showed competitively with many trainers around the Treasure Valley (Idaho) and Willamette Valley (Oregon) in various disciplines, such as Eventing, Jumpers, Dressage, Ranch, and the APHA Performance Circuit. In high school, I was a memberthe Boise Pony Club, Future Farmers of America, and 4-H. I have started colts

and trained/worked horses of varying experience levels. While attending college at Oregon State University, I was an active member of the Event Team, Social Chair officer on the Dressage Team as well as on the Intercollegiate Dressage Team, and Secretary on the Hunter/Jumper Team, as well as a member of the traveling competition team. In Fall of 2020, I graduated with high honors with a degree in Agriculture Science with an emphasis in Equine Science. I now work as a professional groom, primarily in the breed show world as well as some Dressage, Eventing, and Jumpers. I also offer professional body clipping services; anything from a big clip to a full body show horse and will modify to meet your specific needs. Banding and braiding also available.

A Magnakarta is a big bodied, 15.2h, 2015 purebred Arabian gelding looking for his new home!

Stevie has had the same owners since he was a yearling, being used for everything from trail riding to OHSET, both Hunter and Western. Now that their niece has aged out and will be headed to college, it is time for Stevie to find his new people.
He is an easygoing, no need to lunge, same every day type of ride. Snaffle or curb, direct or neck rein, with solid transitions and a good stop. Will go over poles, pivots, trail rides alone or with a buddy. Has lived in a pasture with other horses well, but is currently stalled.
Stevie is an easy keeper, barefoot and sound, utd on vacc and deworming, and will be due for a dental coming fall. Trailers, bathes, ties, and clips.

Audascity is a 2014 bay Arabian gelding standing around 14.3h, and he is finally ready to find his place.

In 2018, my close friend was notified by Sound Equine Options about a basically untouched 3 yo stud in a barn that had been abandoned 2 weeks prior and she promptly snatched him up. Since then, she had him professionally started and then rode him a couple times a year. November of last year I picked him up from her and started putting consistent rides on him, from trail riding, to OHC’s Extreme Mountain Trail, to arena ranch style work, to just tottling around.

Mikey can ride one handed or two, in a snaffle or a curb. He be weird about his ears at times so I bridle him slow. Not recommended for a complete beginner. Classic Arabian tactics. No buck or rear. His spook is normally a stop, look, and backup. That being said, he has been on a number of trail rides, where he loves to walk out and take in the scenery, or canter along the tree line with his buddies. He loves the trails and remains levelheaded and incredibly responsive to his rider.
With additional training, Mikey could excel on the AHA circuit in the Ranch Versatility classes at local and regional levels, or on the open circuit. He would be a great horse for a teenager to mess around OHSET or 4H with, or for someone to just enjoy riding around. Mikey also has the potential to be conditioned for endurance.
Good ground manners, stands tied, lunges, and clips. Barefoot and sound, utd on feet, vaccinations, and worming. Unphased by new locations. Coming due for teeth and possibly a chiropractic. Good stalled or on pasture, can go out with other horses.

Priced mid fours.

Able to basic clip, lunge, med, get show ready, set up/tear down, etc. English, Hunters, Western, or Ranch horses. Preferably no stalls but can if needed. I can also braid for an additional fee if you are not hiring a braider.
I am based out of Oregon and will require travel/housing.

2014 big bodied and 16h bay Arabian gelding

Cairo is as sweet as they come and ready to find his person. He spent the past few years with his young amateur in a Dressage and Working Equitation training program with a USDF Silver Medalist and “L” carded judge.
Trained and schooling through First Level, capabilities for Second. Not too spooky and just your average Arabian shenanigans every so often. Respectful on the ground. Good with other horses, trailers, body clips, stands for farrier. No maintenance required at this point besides shoes. UTD on vaccines, coming due for dental.
This boy will thrive on the Arabian Sporthorse circuit with a capable rider, or an amateur or youth in a program, as well as do well on the Dressage circuit!

Priced upper fours

Get ready to add a little bit of ✨Magic✨ to your life!
This adorable boy is Magic, a beautifully dappled, 5yo Morgan gelding sticking around 14.1h
Magic has been working under saddle for approximately 3 months and while he currently still green, he has a great head on his shoulders and is a very cute little mover. He only needs to see a problem once in order to work it out. Very little baby shenanigans and shows extreme willingness to learn.
In the his short time under saddle, Magic has been out on trail rides, ridden both English and Western, started over jumps (~2ft), and attended the OHC Extreme Mountain Trail course where he was a superstar! He goes in a loose ring snaffle and is very soft mouthed. He can walk, trot, canter (can still be unbalanced in the canter but is gaining strength), ride through water, lunge, bathe, trailer, stand for farrier, and is an easy keeper. Working on leg yields and crossing over. He is good in a stall or out with other horses. Currently barefoot and sound. He does sometimes paw while tied.
Magic is not for the inexperienced rider without guidance as he is still inexperienced himself, but one day he will make one hell of a kid’s pony. Come meet this absolute sweetie pie.

My Story

Hey everyone! My name is Lauren Barker and I am a current student at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon, where I work out of during the school year. Over summer, I work out of Eagle, Idaho and the general Treasure Valley area. I am 19 years old and have been riding since the age of 7. I have trained my personal horses and and showed competitively with many trainers around the Treasure Valley in various disciplines, such as eventing (dressage, showjumping, cross country), western pleasure, and horsemanship in general. I spent years as a member of the Boise Pony Club, Meridian FFA, and Ada County 4-H. I am currently a member of the OSU Eventing Team, Dressage Team, and Hunter/Jumper Team, as well as the national organizations of American Paint Horse Association, Pinto Horse Association of America, American Stock Horse Association, United States Eventing Association, and United States Dressage Federation, and United States Hunter Jumper Federation. Since the beginning of my riding career, I have been working at barns, cleaning stalls, clipping horses, banding for shows, polishing tack, you name it.

I can not call myself a professional bander/braider, but I do have plenty of experience at shows doing the mane of my own horses, as well as friend’s horses. If the photos I put out of my jobs look good to you, I can band or braid your horse for a show the day before or day of. I am also available to be an overall groom and assistant at shows, lunging, saddling, feeding, unloading and loading, etc etc.

  • Banding: $30

  • Braiding: $40
