In 1994 I was visiting family in rural Mississippi when I found a young dog on the side of the road. Rocko's story became a family legend, that moment that changed both of our lives forever. You can read his story here - http://www.RockosRewards.com/story.html. Now that you've shed a few tears, here's how we started making our all natural dog biscuits. In 2007 many pets were poisoned by food that

used ingredients imported from China. Once I realized that China was the source of most pet products, I started making Rocko his own biscuits. It took 6 months to get the perfect recipe and he loved them. We shared with our friends and the response was overwhelming. Rocko's Rewards were here to stay. Rocko lived to be an amazing 18 1/2 years old. We journeyed through his senior years with our friends and fans by our side. When he finally had to let his tired old body go, he gave me an incredible gift with a parting dream, telling me it was OK. He would forever be by my side, happy, healthy and young again. That meant we had to keep going! We keep Rocko's memory alive by sharing what we've learned along the way. Rocko's Rewards all natural dog biscuits are what brings us together, the bonds we've formed along the way keep us here. Today pet illnesses and deaths are at an all time high linked to imported ingredients. More than ever, it's important to know that what you feed your dog is safe. Rocko's Rewards are made by hand, by me. Our ingredients come from reliable sources. Nothing is imported, not even our bags. If you're wondering about those two black dogs all over our page, meet Thor & GynGyn, a mother and son who were picked up together as strays by our local animal control. Rocko's spirit brought us together. We're on a new journey now, going from two completely un-mannered dogs who ate the couch to Rocko's Rewards ambassadors. I've learned about training, nutrition, allergies, the list goes on. We all keep learning every day. As our lives have grown, so has Rocko's Rewards. We started with our Original Beef & Carrot flavor, then added Sweet Potato for dogs with allergies to corn or animal proteins. When the bond of senior pet ownership brought us together, the most common thing I would hear is that an old dog couldn't chew hard biscuits any more. We created our Senior Soft Cookies just for these special dogs. Our newest addition is Blueberry Frosted Biscuits (yum) and we will be adding assorted flavor gift boxes in time for the holidays! Because we walk around a lot of restaurants one of the first things I taught Thor & GynGyn was any food on the ground is nasty. That's the actual command - Nasty. Today Thor reminded me how he is the best boy ever by bringing me a piece of pizza that he found in the back yard. I figured it was dropped by a squirrel. My suspicions were confirmed!

Wow, here's a throwback from 8 years ago :) The best part about the agility classes is this is where I learned that GynGyn was terrified of everything. And here we thought she was just mean lol. Once I knew I was able to work with her on a combination of not being so scared and keeping her away from situations that she would see as scary.

I love this old picture of Rocko and our tree. If you look closely you'll see the spot next to the door doesn't have any ornaments or tinsel. It's that way on purpose - otherwise Rocko's wagging tail would make it happen anyway

WE DID IT!!! Louisville is now the 3rd city in Kentucky (and the largest) to BAN PET SALES AT RETAIL STORES, FLEA MARKETS AND ROADSIDE STANDS!

Stores currently selling pets have one year to change their business models or close. There are no exemptions or loopholes that will let them continue to sell pets. They can partner with rescues to showcase animals for adoption from legit 501(c)3 rescues but cannot charge a fee or earn any money from the sales (again, closing a loophole).

Thank you to all the people who worked so hard on getting this passed including the Metro Council members who argued and fought to get it passed last night. It was a contentious hour long discussion but in the end we prevailed!

The puppy mill ordinance has PASSED!

Two Kentucky Animal Action Board members provided supporting testimony tonight.

Special thanks to Angela Webster for originating this ordinance, and to Stuart Benson for sponsoring it right out of the gate and not giving up on it, Marilyn Parker and Andrew Owen for bravely and adamantly co-sponsoring, Brent Ackerson for really fighting for this during the full council meeting, Phillip Baker for the comments that made us all want to stand up and cheer, to Markus Winkler for doing a great job fairly mediating a very controversial topic and complex process, to the entire GRRAND team for working so hard to push awareness and support for the remarkable passage of such a wonderful ordinance, to Joye Keeley for her remarkable research and investigation on this topic and ordinance, to all of the advocates that have been supporting this for months, to Hardin County Kentucky for being the pioneers in this legislation, and to the Kentucky Animal Action team for always exuding willingness to stand up for what’s right.

Everyone should be cheering tonight.
We have made a major move forward for animal welfare in Louisville, KY!

Thor won't look at me! Just got done with his bath. He only had 2 baths in 10 years but our vet wanted us to try a medicated shampoo for his skin issues. It's working great and has made a huge difference, this is week 3 out of 4 weekly baths. I have to laugh at the instructions that say wash hands after using. Hands? Every inch of me is soaked! Pretty sure it's even in my ears 🤣🤣🤣

GynGyn's protest!

Rocko passed away in April of 2013 but he wasn't done with me yet. Two months later I was baking biscuits and he gave me a push. It's time for a new dog! Two dogs! Black dogs! And they're related! There they were sitting in our high kill shelter after being picked up on a report of two vicious dogs running loose in the street (ha ha ha). Ten years ago today Thor & and his momma GynGyn joined our family <3 We're celebrating with our annual slide show showing how they've grown (especially Thor because we had no idea he was going to grow THAT MUCH lol)! Love them to the moon and back <3

When your best friend's car pulls up

We have two days of misery ahead with the Thunder Over Louisville air show. F-35 fighter jets flying all around. It doesn't bother Thor & GynGyn as much when we are outside - they even got a good look at them when we were on our walk - but inside it rattles the walls. The sound on this video doesn't even come close to capturing how loud it is!

Working in the garden yesterday and Gyn decided if I can dig so can she!

Y'all usually see GynGyn's sweet side - here's a look at the bossy girl telling me I need to fill up the food bowl. Not because it's empty, because she ate 5 bites lol.

For probably 2 months now when GynGyn didn't want to go up the steps after our walk I thought it was because she was worn out or her hips hurt - and I would carry her. She was never worn out. She wanted to keep walking!
