đŁAnnouncement
Today itâs with great happiness and sadness that we annouce the retirement of Dawsie or how he is better known as âThe Goatâ. What a hell of a ride it has been with Dawsie not just on the track but off the track. Who would of thought a 30kg greyhound would fall in love with his best buddy a 8kg Cavoodle named Bowie all while winning races at Wentworth Park Greyhounds! We are also announcing we will be taking a step back from racing for the indefinite future.
Before we go through some of our best moments with Dawsie on the track I wanted to take a moment to share our thanks and appreciation to all of those who have helped, support or had Dawsie in your thoughts!
To all our wonderful owners we couldnât have done this without you The McGuires, Wade Capps, Mum, Dad, James & Ceara youâve made being a trainer the easiest job in the world with your support. Thank you!
Blake Moroney what a legend this bloke is. There has been so many times where during the week Iâve just rung or messaged you needing help to juggle racing with personal commitments and without a shadow of a doubt he goes âyep all good we will sort itâ. I wish there were more people like you out there mate. You handled our boy on the biggest night of ours and his life and you couldnât have done a better job! You heard it here first Blake 100% will be a group/feature trainer popping up more regularly in the future. Thank you for all you have done for myself personally and Dawsie we both appreciate it more than we can put words to.
Our boy had so many loyal supporters and followers, thank you all for the encouragement each week you guys are awesome you know who you are!!
Now onto Dawsie!!
On the track he was a marvel.. we first bought him and we thought we could win a couple cheeky races at Richmond get a photo and happy days⌠well didnât he show us!!
100 starts
14 wins!! (6 of those being at Wenty & 1 x City win at Bulli⌠oh the good ol COVID daysâŚ)
$85,135 in Prizemoney ..
What started as a pipe dream our boy won us our first ever City win, first ever Wenty win & not to mention our first feature finalist (Master Meteor) where he got beaten by a đâs you know what!!
Dawsie has made our lives better than what they were before we met him and thatâs just by his amazing personality and loving nature we canât wait to wake up and see you on the couch every morning for many many many more years to come.
Thank you all
Ferazzi Lodge over and out đ¤
