Thank you Catherine for such a wonderful update on Nala… it is SO good to see her enjoying life (and water!) to the fullest!
Nala has a condition called elbow dysplasia most often diagnosed in the first couple of years of a dog’s life. In Nala’s case, this sweet girl has undergone three separate surgeries to her left elbow, each followed by long recoveries. Although she’s only about to turn four, her condition is advanced. Surgery was aimed at removing a large fragment and helping the joint to function better. Rehab with Nicky @mobileanimalrehab has been aimed at helping her regain strength and function, correcting imbalances, managing pain, and building up areas of weakness.
Nala, who has elbow dysplasia, and who underwent a third surgery to her left elbow in September, is making steady progress following many weeks of physical therapy with Nicki @mobileanimalrehab in Toronto. While away, she’s working on sand walking and walking in walking… and look at her go! With Nala, it’s all about balance… helping her enjoy the life and of the young dog while being mindful that her elbow, even with surgery, requires rest and pain management… it’s a balance.
