As a Qualified and Registered Veterinary Nurse I work collaboratively with other veterinary professionals and therapists to help provide multidisciplinary care for patients. I have a keen interest in canine behaviour and pain management, and have recently completed a course studying behaviour, gait and posture analysis in dogs. 0% of canine behaviour cases referred to vets have underlying pain as a cause for thier clinical presentation and behaviour changes. In the clinical setting it can often be difficult to identify or assess pain accurately, as dogs mask pain well when in a novel, exciting or stressful environment. This full and detailed assessment helps the team begin to understand the impact that emotional and physical health has on the patient's behaviour, with the aim of helping to identify potential signs of pain, leading to faster veterinary diagnosis and treatment if necessary.
