Meet Callie🥰
I'm away visiting my folks at the moment, and Callie is my parents dog. They adopted her from rescue I worked at, when she was a tiny pup, and she has an amazing life.
They now all live by the sea, and although Callie is now almost 12 years old and very much starting to slow down, she still really enjoys her days.
Lots of slow sniffy walks round the woods or to the beach, swimming in the sea, sunbathing on the garden, fun tricks and games, and regular visits to the vets to stay on top of her age related aches and pains.
It's so important we adjust and support our older pets to ensure they enjoy life to the full long into retirement.

Little Pepper is doing ever so well with her puppy training. This week we practiced recall, walking nicely with her human, had lots of fun exploring the big wide world , and had a little go at some puppy tracking. She absolutely rocked it🤘🤘🐾

Stunning Rollo tried his paw at scentwork this week🐾🤩
He has great owners who just want to find fun things for him to do, so they booked one of our intro to scentwork sessions.
He's a very pawsh boy, and picked truffle oil as his preferred target scent.
He's a very smart boy and was soon having a blast searching the garden.
Scentwork is a fantastic and fun activity for dogs of any age, and taps into our dogs very natural desire to sniff and explore.

I was away over the weekend brushing up on my Canine first aid skills, with the awesome Rachel Bean RVN.
It's really important to me that should the worst happen I can do the best I can for your dogs wether that's doing first aid if appropriate or just getting them straight to the vet.
CPR advice in particular changes quite regularly, so it's important to keep up to date with the latest guidance.

It's been a puppy kind of day today!
First up little Pepper and her big sister Nala. I trained Nala when she was a pup and it's been an absolute pleasure today to get to go back and see her all grown up today after over 3 years, and I feel really privileged to be asked to go back and help train new pup Pepper. She's ever so smart and such a happy little dog.
Then on to Woody, who can wiggle his entire body,nose to tail, while running around, and is so quick to learn!
Both dogs have amazing families keen to get off to the best start, and are putting in loads of really good groundwork to help them have the best lives possible.

My name is Jemma and I am a Dog Trainer based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.
Before working in rescue I fostered dogs as a volunteer and this sparked my interest in dog training and behaviour. I, like many others, turned to high profile trainers in search of knowledge and soon realised that just because it’s on TV does not make it the best!
During my 7 years working in rescue, I met dogs of all shapes and sizes with a wide variety of training needs and/or behaviour problems; particularly nervous, fearful, reactive, boisterous and sometimes aggressive dogs. I was fortunate enough to work alongside and learn from some great colleagues and mentors including some extremely caring and experienced rescue and rehoming teams, some great vets, and several highly experienced trainers & behaviourists. I have a real passion for rescue and for seeing a dog who may have been struggling, turned around and loving life in their new home, and I understand only too well how hard it can be when you share your life with a dog who may be struggling to cope with everyday things other dog owners may take for granted in their own dogs.
I currently work at a local vets where I have worked for the past four years. Here, alongside my current role, I continue to use my interest in training to run sessions to help anxious dogs and puppies feel happier at the vets, and run Puppy classes.
While there is no substitute for hands on experience,I believe we are always learning, and as more and more information and research becomes available in the field, I am always looking to attend seminars and workshops to improve and update my knowledge. In 2014 I successfully completed an FdSc in Canine Behaviour and Training at Bishop Burton college.
I am a full member of the Pet Professional Guild British Isles and a supporting member of the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants.
