Super happy with how Shadow’s recall has been coming along, engagement is forever improving😍
Had such a wonderful day with clients yesterday running another environmental session and multiple 1-2-1s. Seeing the progress these guys are making in every single session, just reminds me how much I love this job! Getting to help dogs live a better, less stressful life day in day out but also supporting the owners in shaping their dog into a loving, lifetime companions❤️.
Yesterday we had a mix of new and current clients attending the group session and they ALL absolutely smashed it. We had a range of different breeds, both big and small, all different personalities and all working on a bunch of different issues but every single owner came with the same positive mindset and all had an amazing session with their dogs! I’m so proud of every single one of you and I’m so unbelievably grateful to be a part of your training journeys, keep up the hard work and I’ll see you all next month for another great session🥰🐶. More videos to follow!
Something completely new for Shadow… a little bit of heel work and obedience in the water😍💧
Understandably he didn’t want to go down in the water but he gave it a go at least🤣 Overall a really great session of confidence building and proofing his behaviours!
Super proud of my girl for being so calm and gentle with these cows who swarmed us as we were walking through the park to go home, absolutely love how sound and neutral she is with the world, a lovely experience for us both!🥰
Fab session with Timber yesterday too! This was the very end of our session at the park so he was getting a little bit tired, hence the paw at the end🤣❤️
Livestock training yesterday with Shadow and Toffee, both absolutely smashed it😍 This was Shadow’s first time seeing cattle so super pleased with how sound he was from start to end🤭
Now seeing as I hadn’t posted properly for a while, I never got to introduce the lovely Toffee!
Toffee’s owners came to me for help with people and dog reactivity. Toffee would growl, lunge, show teeth and snap just at the sight of another dog and would even try to bite if in a closer proximity to the triggering stimuli. His owners were really struggling as they could not invite guests into their home without the fear of Toffee kicking off and potentially biting one of them. All of these issues were simply down to a complete lack of confidence.
The past few weeks, we’ve spent time building his confidence in new, yet quiet environments and doing plenty of engagement building games to show Toffee that his handlers are far more important than any outdoor stimuli he is going to come across in life.
Yesterday, I decided that Toffee was finally ready to be thrown into a slightly busier environment where we came across dogs, people, horses, birds, ducks and so on. The little guy absolutely smashed it, not a single reaction other than a little snap at an off lead dog that came right in his face and ignored his initial warning sign of growing so I advised his owners not to correct him in this situation as he was well within his rights to react the way he did. He had multiple other off lead dogs surround him and invade his space throughout the session but even then he continued to walk on and completely ignore them.
Very proud of the work these guys are putting in with Toffee and his engagement has improved tonnes since I met him, keep it up guys, see you next week❤️.
Timber’s engagement improving day and night and of course Angel couldn’t miss out on being in the video🤣
These 3 have been absolutely smashing their training over the past few weeks despite us not being able to train as much due to me being unwell again so I’m extremely proud! They’re making incredible individual progress and I’m super excited for what’s in store for them all over the upcoming months🥳
Yet another amazing environmental session with this beautiful bunch! So so proud of every single one of these guys and their dedication to training!🥳
It was definitely the most challenging group session so far as it was a ridiculously busy environment with hundreds of people and multiple dogs outside of the session but all owners and dogs did brilliantly, well done guys, smashing it as always! Looking forward to the next one already😍
This entrance to a centre position has definitely been my favourite ones to teach so far, absolutely love Timbers enthusiasm for it!😍
Didn’t realise I had a little video of Shadow from the Obsidian K9 Academy open day, still so proud of how they all did last weekend. This boy drives me up the walls sometimes but wouldn’t change him for the world! He’s got so much drive and is just super eager to please all the time❤️.
Cannot believe how well Timber coped in this environment yesterday considering how nervous he was around pretty much everything; people, dogs, cyclists, general outside noise, and so on. Not a single noise out of him all day despite being around all his triggers, gave me excellent engagement throughout too! He was an absolute superstar!🤗❤️
What an incredible day at the Obsidian K9 Academy open day!
This was a ridiculously challenging environment for Angel as it consisted of all her major triggers including dogs lunging/barking/growling at her, dogs running past her, dogs playing crazy games of tug and dogs jumping up at people and yet we got no reactions out of her all day! Such a massive win for us, couldn’t be more proud of her if I tried!🥳😍
Timber and Shadow both absolutely smashed it too so more videos to follow🥰.
Recapping the ‘hold’ with Angel, something we haven’t worked on for 10 months or so. Unfortunately, I had no clue where I put the dumbbell in that time but their new jute bite tugs worked just as well, the girl did good☺️😅.
P.S. ignore the boys wimpering for Angel’s food in the background🤣
Shadow’s orbit coming along nicely considering we’ve only done a few sessions on this. His rear end awareness is certainly improving!😋
Meet the beautiful Ivy!
Ivy’s owner came to me for help with a variety of different things including engagement building, recall, obedience, trick training, leash walking, general manners towards people and dogs and a little bit of barrier frustration too.
We covered absolutely everything in this session to get Ivy off to a good start and get some solid foundations put in place so I’m keen to see Ivy’s progress in all aspects of training week by week. She’s an absolute bundle of joy and I can’t wait to guide Ivy and her owner Regan on their training journey😍
An incredible first session with this lovely, energetic girl, she did brilliantly for the whole two hour session and she’s developing into a really great example of this breed!! I look forward to the next session with you guys☺️
Working on recalling Angel to a static heel position, not perfect but we’re getting there🤩
The lovely Dotty!
Dotty’s owners came to me for help with some reactivity issues. Dotty’s reactivity was nerve based, she had zero confidence at the start of the session and was barking non-stop at everything around her including people, dogs, birds, wind, etc.
After working on some handling techniques to improve the communication between Dotty and her owners, Dotty started to understand and realise that the world isn’t such a scary place after all. Dotty went from barking at everything and everyone including myself, shaking uncontrollably, cowering and having her tail tucked right between her legs to what you can see in this video; a much happier and confident girl enjoying herself in a recall activity with her owners.
Very proud of the commitment and enthusiasm that her owners brought to the session, I look forward to seeing you guys again in a few weeks to see how you’re getting on and to meet the rest of the pack for some training🤩❤️.
Typical of Timber to want to train on the train🐺🚈
