Pick up is 20km south of Cambridge, in Horahora.

We have received 3 females looking for a new home. Just look at how cute they are! I am so tempted to keep them but I really need to keep my numbers down.
If you are looking for some mice and can convince me you can provide a great home for them I just may be able to part with them!
They are a bit skittish to pick up but once you have them they settle down. We are working on trust to make them a bit more friendly.

We are reducing our boy numbers so we now have this amazing boy available to the very best of homes.

Meet Mars, a very special boy who is 1 1/2 years old and has fathered a litter here.
Mars is a gorgeous siamese and is very friendly, healthy and happy. Most of the time he will come out to greet me and hop on my hand by himself. He comes with his enclosure which was made here at Milky Way Mousery.
He also comes with everything inside his enclosure including his exercise wheel. All is in excellent condition apart from a little rusting on the mouse mesh.

Please only get in touch if you can provide a loving, caring forever home. It is very hard for us to give up our boys. We are more than happy to give advice and support on his care going forwards.

Meet Eclipse, a very special boy who is 1 1/2 years old and has fathered a litter here.
Eclipse is white with a cute little black bottom and is very friendly, healthy and happy. Most of the time he will come out to greet me and hop on my hand by himself. He comes with his enclosure which was made here at Milky Way Mousery.
He also comes with everything inside his enclosure including his exercise wheel. All is in excellent, near new condition.

Meet Rocket, a special boy we bred here who has just turned 1 year old on the 1st of July.
Rocket is white with a cute little brown bottom and is very friendly, healthy and happy. He comes with his enclosure which was purchased from The Mouse House just 2 months ago.
He also comes with everything inside his enclosure including his exercise wheel which is also only 2 months old.

Today we said goodbye to our two mummas.

Venus (right) was the most beautiful long haired siamese. She had 3 babies for us but unfortunately after that she has always struggled with her health and was very skinny and weak. This morning she let me know her time was up.

Luna (left) was such a friendly girl and had 10 beautiful babies for us, which we still have two of - Apollo and Rocket.
She unfortunately developed a tumor on her back leg. I decided to let her go with Venus today rather than waiting until she was really struggling to get around.

These are our first mouse losses. Cora (my 6yo daughter) has handled it really well, bless her.

Farewell Venus and Luna. Thank you for being such wonderful pets and mummies. Rest in peace, little squeaks 🐭🪐

Miraculously we haven't had any litters born from my daughter's mouse mix-up! This makes me so happy because the 3 girls who were in with the boy are really too old to have litters and would have been very hard on them 🙌
The bad news is our dear Luna has developed a tumor. This is a sad reality of owning mice as this is very common in them. I will be keeping a close eye on Luna, we will be spending lots of quality time with her including lots of cuddles and scratches. Then when the time comes when her quality of life has deteriorated we will be sending her over the rainbow bridge 😢❤

We have some unplanned pregnancies currently.
My daughter accidentally got a girl and boy mixed up and the boy (pictured right) went in with 3 girls (pictured left). We therefore have 3 litters due around 27th April 🤷‍♀️

I will update when they arrive. If you would like some mice get in touch to go on the waitlist!

Two home bred babies we kept.
On the right is Apolo who we were always going to keep. He has the most beautiful fur and is naturally outgoing and sociable with us.
On the left is his brother who was the last of the babies to be sold. I haven't pushed to advertise him and now I feel their brotherly bond is so strong that I can't part them. They say males can't be kept together as they are territorial but these two have never shown any aggression. I will continue to monitor them closely but they seem pretty happy in each other's company.
We have just given him a name. Rocket 🚀

Introducing ourselves 👋
Hi, I'm Vanessa. I'm a 40yo mum of two (boy and girl), trained vet nurse and wife of a dairy farmer here in rural Cambridge, New Zealand.
This is my 5yo daughter Cora. She adores all our mice and loves to help me take care of them and give them plenty of cuddles!
Our days are busy with farmlife, horses, ponies and motorbikes but we always make time for our littlest pets!
