Furry Friends Rescue (FFR) is a all-volunteer foster home-based non-profit Bay Area companion animal rescue organization (Non-profit Tax Id: #94-3308178 501(c)(3)), comprised entirely of experienced and dedicated volunteers who collectively have rescued and home fostered over 16,000 dogs and cats since 1998. All dedicated hero foster homes. Every rescue dog and cat get TLC, holistic/fresh/high qua

lity foods, supplements, home training and vet care. Once they are healthy (2-3 weeks or more depending on the dog or cat's health and behavior needs), then adopted to their forever loving homes for life as a true indoor family member. We ensure careful screening with experienced counselors, home visit for safety and support. We take our dogs and cats back for life to ensure their safety so they are never abandoned again. Foster home love their fosters as their own pets. United and inspired by our compassion for all animals, we focus our talents on saving dogs and cats destined to be euthanized in Bay Area shelters. Each rescued animal is provided veterinary attention, including examination, immunizations and spay/neuter. Then the rescued dog or cat is placed into one of our safe haven foster homes where he receives lots of TLC and basic family member training. Most of our dogs and cats are well behaved and are ready for adoption. A few may need special care to recuperate from medical, mental or physical neglect/abuse; or to regain their confidence and trust in people. Since November 1998, we have saved over 16,000 animals and the numbers are growing every day—along with 6000+ Guardian, Shelter & Rescue Assists! Our volunteer home foster about 100 dogs and cats (of all ages from young to seniors, mom and babies and special needs. A key part of FFR's philosophy and practice is to build alliances and network with other reputable shelters, rescue organizations, veterinarians, doggie day cares, trainers, media and caring companies. By working together, we can save more lives together and help to eliminate the unnecessary deaths of so many adoptable animals while enhancing the lives of people as well. We pride ourselves on our great team work. It takes a village of volunteers to save thousands of dogs and cats and find them their forever family homes. Robin (now Gnoki), Malamute mix, 2 yrs, 94 lbs, trying on Reindeer antlers. Getting ready for Christmas. He is waiting for his experienced forever home. Robin has been in a foster home since a puppy. He is very well trained, was in a home doggie day care, trainer, and attended training classes. His foster home was thinking to keep him but plans have changed due to move. Robin is great with their dogs. Robin is a big love.

Mask the loud noises of Halloween, when away from home, over-night or any noisy event that can stress your dog. Calming music help relax our pups and dogs. We use all the time in our foster homes for new dogs and puppies. Huge variety on YouTube. Here is one with no ads and 12 hours. Makes me relaxed and sleepy! 😴

Halloween 🎃 Pet Safety!
If you decide to hand out candy, watch your front door for door dashers, put your dog on leash, if need, some dogs need quiet room with calming music, or set up dog pen to block from door escapes. Trick or treaters and costumes are strangers to dogs. Some dogs may guard home (it’s their job) or get scared.

Need foster homes and forever homes! Gorgeous Ranger and Lyle's Halloween and Fall photos. 🎃😍. Longest tongue contest. 🤣. Tongue out after their long hikes and running around. Thanks to Cassie. Both are boarding and need dedicated foster homes. Ranger, is very well trained for a year, knows commands, smart and ready to be your forever BFF. Lyle has been boarding since we rescued him off PTS list from a shelter last year. 🥰

We can't even look at all the daily plea requests anymore from shelters. So many perfect great dogs are being abandoned by irresponsible people after they got puppies during Covid. 💔Been super high vacation time all year. Everyone keeps going on vacations. Will be worst for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Vacation and holiday dumps. Karma.

Happy update! 😍. The 4 Husky Musketeer puppies reunion. We rescued them when they were only 3 days old and left in a box on a road. Shelter contacted us to rescue. Thanks to their hero bottle puppy foster homes, they all thrived and grew up into super adorable puppies. All were highly socialized, home trained, had dog playmates at foster homes and smart. All were adopted. Now they are all grown up and very loved by their great adopters. All gorgeous, trained and healthy.

So uplifting to get updates and see how happy they are. 😍💜
It takes a village of dedicated volunteer foster homes and a lot of hard work.

Poor Romeo still needs a new forever home or foster home. Just added some precious photos.

His current home adopted him March 2021, but they now they have a new baby that is crawling. Romeo did well with new baby-dog training with a trainer, but recently he guarded his toy from the toddler when she tried to pick up. Romeo needs a home with adult or older kids (12 yrs and up) only. He loves his walks, hikes, sofa lounging and lovable. Knows commands. Young toddlers make him nervous. Their first baby and juggling to watch their baby and Romeo. They did set up baby gates. Precious puppy Acacia, 11 weeks. She is learning house training, seeing/hearing the outside world and learned some commands at her temporary week foster home. She loves playing with their dog. Middle age sweeties. Small dogs can live to 18-22 years old with healthy fresh foods, no toxins and exercise. Many of our small middle to senior dogs love their long walks and healthy.
Our Annie, 9 years young, walks for 2-3 miles twice per day. We had a 14 year old small dog agility champion.

Video from their hero foster home. Puppy Chandra and Diana got to see each other and played. Each pup was found dumped in a field about a 1 1/2 week apart. Diana was about 4-5 weeks when we rescued her in. Chandra was about 6 weeks old. If only they could talk and tell us what happened to them and the rest of their siblings. Cruel people dumped young puppies in the fields. Animal abuse. They can’t survive alone. These two were found by people that took each to the shelter. Karma. Chandra was in really bad shape. Diana was starving and had GI upset from crap food. Both got their TLC care and healthy foods.
