Our first full day CPD event in a while is underway! It is great to have such a full room with lots of questions and conversations. Lots of learning. Nothing beats local CPD for meeting up with old friends and making new 😀.

Ian runs the neurology service at Rowe Referrals seeing a variety of internal and external referrals. He holds certificates in both Diagnostic Imaging and Neurology, helping him to investigate and treat all types of neurological disease in our small animal patients. He is particularly interested in advanced neuroimaging of the brain, central nervous system neoplasia and the surgical management of spinal disease.

Eight-year-old Staffie crossbreed Banshee was suffering with worsening necrotising fasciitis after sustaining wounds in an attack by a cat. But negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) has saved her life, thanks to vets at IVC Evidensia's Rowe Referrals!

Vet Dr. Elisa Best, highly experienced in NPWT, says the case is just the latest heartening success story at Rowe Referrals and hopes to see its wider use within the veterinary profession. And this is another heartening story courtesy of the IVC Evidensia Care Fund. Without the cutting-edge treatment, Banshee only had a few days left to live.

Antibiotics are essential when treating many conditions in animals and people, but bacteria are becoming resistant to many antibiotics that we use in human and veterinary medicine.
Antibiotic resistance occurs when bacteria develop defences that protect them from

🐶 Meet Norman the puppy!

Norman came to us with a unique dental challenge- persistent deciduous (baby) canines with linguoversion (turning inwards) of both lower adult canines. These were causing trauma as they were partially impinging on the palate above.

Our dedicated team stepped in to provide the best care possible. Andrea our dentistry referral vet decided on a treatment plan that included extracting the deciduous canines and performing crown extensions on the lower canines. These crown extensions served to help push the lower teeth back to their correct position.

We are thrilled to share that Norman is now on the road to a healthier, happier smile! 🦷

Today we said goodbye to Banshee! She has been a regular visitor to us here at Rowe Referrals since she developed necrotising fasciitis 6 weeks ago and lost most of the skin on the underside of her neck. We are pleased to say that today we officially discharged her from our care!

𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐀𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐰 🐈‍⬛

Arrow was born without a large part of his upper eyelids (eyelid agenesis). Without the protection of eyelids there is an increased risk of corneal damage and exposure, rubbing hairs from the face can also become irritating.

We made new eyelids for Arrow by moving some of his upper lip up to his eye, a procedure called lip-to-lid transposition.

He now looks very handsome I think you will agree - he literally smiles with his eyes 😄
