Route 66 Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Center

Route 66 Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Center Route 66 Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Center is a family owned Vet ER in Nob Hill. Finally, a Emergency Veterinary Hospital for SE Albuquerque!
(159)

Route 66 was once the gateway to the western United States. Developed as part of the early national highway system the roadway first provided hope and inspiration as the pathway west for families looking for new oppurtunities during the times of the Dust Bowl and World War II. It soon became the path for adventure seekers looking west in the 1950s and 1960s. Invoking a sense of promise and adventu

re Rt. 66 became intertwined with the growth and development of the city of Albuquerque, New Mexico. It is this same promise of opportunity and adventure that has led to the creation of the Route 66 Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Center. Recognizing the desperate need for high quality emergency veterinary care in southeast Albuquerque and desiring to operate our own hospital, Route 66 Veterinary Emergency Critical Care center has been founded by Dr. Jeremy Welcome and Rowan McGehee-Welcome. Located along historic Route 66 in the rapidly growing Nob Hill neighborhood we will create the premier veterinary trauma center in Albuquerque. With a focus on compassionate care and exceptional client service while practicing the highest quality of medicine we will initially provide after hours and critical patient care for the pets of southeast Albuquerque and beyond. Through our mission to create positive change in people’s lives we will integrate ourselves into the Nob Hill community, continually striving to serve in new and expansive ways.

From the beginning of the hospital to the future of Rt 66 back at 24/7! We recognize and appreciate the people who got us here, from our first team with the incredible Welcomes who started our hospital, Dr Reid and the clinic's first technician supervisor, Kaci .... all the way to now with a huge DVM and support staff and a beautiful building designed with patients and clients in mind ❀️🐾
We are so lucky and honored to be available to serve the people and pets of NM. THANK YOU to our furever Rt 66 team members!

It's been a busy few weeks getting ready for 24/7 but we never want to miss the chance to celebrate and thank the people we love!
Angelina has been with the RT 66 team for 6 years and has been the most amazing coworker and the heart in our CSR team. We say goodbye to her as she and her family move on to the next chapter in their lives. NM will be a little less bright without her but the RT 66 team are so happy to have a lifetime friend, no matter where she is!
Thank you Angelina for everything you have done for the hospital and the team. We love you and we will miss seeing your smiling face at the hospital, we can't wait till you come back to visit!

Can you believe it's August?! We have some very special EmPAWees this month πŸ’œ Penny and Zazzles are the crazy kiddos of our medical director.
Penny was the very first Rt 66 surrender. She survived parvo virus thanks to the team + a whole lotta attitude and found a home in the hearts of us all.
Zazzles is the newest addition and is learning what it is to have a big sister like Penny, she loves the whole family so far!

We are a little behind but here is our adorable EmPAWee of the month for June 2024! Buddy is a handsome boy who like many of us, hates healthy snacks and prefers those tasty fries!
We'll get him onto those blueberries somehow!

While you enjoy your 4th of July, please remember to keep your pets safely inside. More pets go missing during this time of year than any other. If you find a lost pet, please have it scanned for a microchip ASAP.

Remember that fire risk is also very high, be responsible and safe with our beloved state πŸ’›β€οΈ

Power is fully restored! Thank you all for your patience while PNM corrected the issues in the Nob Hill area from that downed line. We are open for normal business again.

06/15/2024

Our power is currently down, as it is along much of Central. We are unable to intake patients at this time; proceed to your nearest emergency veterinary hospital should your pet need immediate care. We anticipate our doors reopening at roughly 8:00 p.m. according to PNM. Thank you all for your understanding.

What goes on behind the ER treatment doors? Doctors creating treatment plans, preparing for procedures and performing life-saving surgery on a daily basis. We love our DVM team! 🐾❀️🐾 Our doctors work tirelessly to help so many patients, often skipping a break so they can see that one more emergency patient, always remember to thank your DVM, that thank you can mean everything πŸ₯°
