Born and raised in Colombia (South America), Dr. Estrada moved to the United States in 2001 after practicing equine veterinary medicine in his home country and attending preceptorships at very renowned equine breeding operations in Canada, Germany and Australia. In 2004 he finished his residency in animal theriogenology (reproduction) at Kansas State University and completed a two year residency t

o become eligible to sit boards for the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (Equine). He is the only board certified specialist in Animal Reproduction in New Mexico and is a member of the American College of Theriogenology and the European College of Animal Reproduction. Dr Estrada started Santa Sofia Equine LLC, a mobile ambulatory practice that covers the areas of Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Corrales, Los Lunas, Belen and the East Mountains.
