ALL PERSONNEL, the Installation Commander has implemented a base closure due to weather. Emergency services personnel should contact their duty center for further instructions. Emergency and essential personnel movement only through the following gated: Truman and Eubank and Maxwell.

There is currently a fatal respiratory infection going around in dogs that has been reported mainly in Colorado, New Hampshire, Oregon, and is beginning to pop up in other parts of the US.

Right now, not much is known about the bug but it appears to be non-responsive to traditional antibiotics and can become fatal (in some dogs) within 48-72 hours after clinical signs.

We (as veterinarians) recommend limiting contact with other dogs as much as possible including daycare, boarding, grooming, etc until we can get a better handle on what this developing illness is.
