A very experienced and natural horseman Mark has spent the last 11 years at Sir Patrick Hogan’s successful empire Cambridge Stud, where he was the head Yearling Manager for the past four years. Prior to this Mark completed the highly regarded Irish National Stud Breeding Course, obtaining a Diploma in Equine Breeding. In addition to this Mark has spent time in Australia working for Coolmore Stud and well-known trainer David Hayes. Lorraine Conroy – General Manager/Co-owner

Originally from Ireland, Lorraine has spent the last 5 years employed at Cambridge Stud and is a current Yearling Manager. She has a Certificate in Equine Science from the University of Limerick and like Mark, completed the Irish National Stud Breeding Course. Lorraine has acquired a great international perspective having spent time working for Castlebridge Stud in Ireland, Dromoland Farm in the United States and Coolmore Stud in Australia.

The team at Kiltannon were gutted to hear the passing of Joe Simpkins(brother Jo) and wish to send our condolences to Joes family and friends.

When Joe was playing rugby for Marist a few years back he did a stint at Kiltannon and became a great part of the team, not only was he a great worker but so much fun to have around the stables.

A sister to the talented Sydney performer , is out of the Pour Moi mare and has recorded a win and two seconds from her past three starts.

ELSON BOY A WINNING MACHINE!

The 4YO has been a real winning machine for his trainer Dar Lunn and owners G G Mitchell & R D Pratten, winning his last six starts in succession after winning at Rosehill today.

The winner of 9 of his 22 starts with prizemoney of A$342,000, won his first start in March 2023 as a 3YO before being sent for a spell. Returning in December as a 4YO, was beaten upon his return before winning twice at the end of 2023 and into the New Year.

Apprentice Chelsea Hillier has ridden the horse at his past three starts and understands the horse very well , allowing the gelding to cruise along in front before kicking strongly under his young rider on each occasion.

ELSON BOY ... A WINNING MACHINE!

The gelding posted his fifth win in succession today as he rolled along beautifully in the lead for apprentice Chelsea Hillier and fought back strongly when headed to pull away for a comfortable win in the A$160,000 Kia Ora Handicap over 1300m at Scone.

Trained by Dar Lunn at Dubbo, has been a real find for connections in recent weeks, having had five starts since the 8 March and is unbeaten in each of them.

has won 8 of his 21 starts and takes his stake earnings past the A$260,000 mark.

The talented 4YO scored an emphatic win in the A$40,000 Gooree Cup over 1400m at Mudgee yesterday and took his record to 7 wins and a second from 20 starts ... his last 4 in succession.

Trained by Dar Lunn, was taken straight to the lead by apprentice Chelsea Hillier and never looked like loosing as got into a lovely rhythm over the 1400m and won by an empatic 3.7 lengths at the line.

Bred by Mark and Lorraine Forbes of Kiltannon Stables, is the first foal of the Pour Moi mare . A $20,000 purchase at New Zealand Bloodstock for Mr V Hoi-Yuen Li at Book 2, has now won A$178,000 in stakes for his connections and is in a real purple patch of form.

EL ROCA GELDING WINS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS QUALIFIER

The gelding has given himself a shot at the A$1,000,000 Newhaven Park Country Championship Final at Royal Randwick Racecourse on 6 April after winning the 7th of nine A$150,000 qualifying races.

Taken to the lead by Tommy Berry, rolled along at a solid clip and and proved too strong for (by Zoustar) and Listen to the Band (Tickets).

Bred by Mark and Lorraine Forbes, Kiltannon Stables, from their Pour Moi Mare , was a $20,000 purchase at New Zealand Bloodstock for Mr V Hoi-Yuen Li, and is raced by Mr G G Mitchell and Mr R D Pratten.

Trained by Dar Lunn in Dubbo, the 4YO gelding has now 5 of his 18 starts - including his last two in succession - and it was noteworthy that Tommy Berry made the trip to Coonamble to partner the horse.

Immediacy (NZ) Remains Undefeated in Autumn Classic 🍂

Saturday’s A$300,000 Group Two Stow Storage Autumn Classic (1800m) at Caulfield produced a one-two finish for Karaka graduates, headed by a scintillating performance from an unbeaten up-and-comer. 🤩

Immediacy (NZ) (Tarzino) was sold for just $15,000 from Book 2 of Karaka 2022 to Kiltannon Stables ,then returned later in the year and was a $200,000 purchase by trainers Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young from Riverrock Farm’s Ready to Run Sale draft. Immediacy has now won all of his three starts and A$233,790 in stakes, with a whole lot more in store.🤝

Busuttin and Young were so taken with Immediacy that they returned to Karaka last month and bought his half-sister from Book 1 of Karaka 2024. The filly by Hello Youmzain was offered by Cambridge Stud and was sold for $280,000.
