Who likes dinosaurs, cats and donuts? 🦕😺🍩

We at Green Cube sure do, and we have something exciting to announce!

In conjunction with Teachers’ Day (Sep) and Childrens’ Day (Oct), Green Cube and St. Andrew’s Mission School (SAMS) are collaborating in a special project! St. Andrew's Mission School caters to children and youth on the autism spectrum who are able to access the national curriculum at the primary and secondary levels.

Designs drawn by Primary One students from SAMS will be featured on the covers of our Microgreens Home Growing Kits, which are packed by Green Cube’s urban farmers with autism. These fascinating artworks were contributed by 7 students and will be on a total of 1000 kits. Art offers these children an opportunity for self-expression, and benefits include developing focus and motor skills. We hope that they will continue to create meaningful pieces and be active contributors in our community.

We also like to take this opportunity to thank all the educators who work tirelessly to nurture and maximise the potential of all students.

We conducted a children’s microgreens workshop last week. Was blown away by the children’s enthusiastic responses and enjoyed seeing the little ones embrace learning, even if it involves trying new veggies and getting their hands dirty! 👧🏻👦🏼🌱

Thank you for the space! We love that everything was child-friendly and the environment naturally sparked children’s interest in books!

Today we concluded a microgreens training programme with some students with autism.

Through the days, they’ve embraced our presence and the farming tasks given to them. 🌱🧑🏼‍🌾 Although many were doing this for the first time, they showed and impressed us with their potential and independence.

We thank them for putting in the effort to learn something new, and we hope that they enjoyed the process!

They got to bring home the microgreens they grew for their families. Their tummies are full, so is our heart! ☺️

It’s never easy getting into a new routine.

Cheryl and her family has shown us that with diligence and perseverance it is possible for anyone to contribute. Cheryl and her sister Eunice have been steadily growing for Green Cube for a few months now!
